The Night That Was…

Tonight I saw some very cool spiritual hunger in the lives of students. It’s pretty cool when there is a “get it” factor that is taking place. Two students in particular are pressing into God in ways they haven’t before. They are taking steps towards God when their lives have usually gone the other direction. They are testing the waters and it’s exciting to watch. Walking with Jesus is truly a journey and when people begin that journey it’s truly a blast to watch.

I loved how people worshiped tonight. Rob stepped in and led and it was great…it was authentic, loud, and I think very God honoring. Way to step it up in this area Oasis…I’m privileged to be able to be in the room during these times. I also thought Chelsea did a nails job describing the impact that her friends have had on her…pretty cool stuff.

Tonight I was also reminded of how hard it is to be a parent. Students who read this I hope you can step back a little bit from the grid of your life and understand that most parents truly have your best interest in mind. I say a big THANK YOU to all you parents tonight! The job you do to raise your child to know and love Jesus isn’t easy…so to your efforts, your late/sleepless nights, your worries, your desperate prayers, your tears, and your desires…I hope you know that you are doing right thing when you seek to actively lead your son or daughter in ways of God. My respect for you continues to grow.
