Meet the Oasis Staff
Meet Brad Zook-Director of Senior High Ministries
Brad has been involved in Brookside’s Student Ministry since 2001. He came on staff full-time in 2005, led Brookside’s middle school ministry (Tribe) from 2006-2011, and now leads Oasis. Brad grew up in Flanagan, IL and in Pretty Prairie, KS and came to Omaha to go to Grace University. Brad met his wife, Leslie, while serving in Tribe, and they now have 2 kids—Chloe and Parker. Brad loves to read, work out, talk about theology, and hang out with his wife and kids. He also eats cinnamon rolls with chili (…it's a small town thing).
Meet Ryan Potter - Assistant Director of Senior High Ministries
Ryan is the newest addition here at Brookside, officially joining the Youth Staff as of July. He grew up in Aurora, Nebraska and was blessed to be mentored by so many spiritual teachers growing up. It was in Aurora that he realized how important it was to have someone pouring into you spiritually and that is why he knows youth ministry is so important. Although he came to know the Lord at age thirteen, it wasn’t until college that Ryan started to understand the importance of “life on life” ministry as 1 Thessalonians 2:8 became his life verse.
It was also in college where he met his wife Vanessa. Ryan and Vanessa got married on July 7th, 2007 in Hastings, NE, and then moved to Omaha so Vanessa could start Physician Assistant school at UNMC. As Vanessa started to follow her dreams, Ryan began to follow his, becoming a volunteer in Tribe with Brad that same year, and then starting a ministry in town called K-Life the following year. After K-Life, he served as a youth intern with Calvary Chapel West Omaha, and now God has called him back to Brookside. Ryan enjoys being active as he participates in basketball, flag football, softball and running. Outside of sports, he enjoys photography, traveling, and hanging out with friends and family. Currently Ryan works for Apple, so if you have any questions about your ipad, iphone, or computer, he might be the guy to go to, then again, he is no genius so don’t set any high expectations!
Meet Cindy Lowry - Administrative Assistant to Youth & Next Generation Ministries
Cindy joined the youth ministry team in November of 2011. She is originally from Grand Rapids Michigan. She came to Omaha to attend Grace University, from which she recently graduated with an Education major. She and her husband, Kyle Lowry, were married in December of 2010. Cindy has volunteered with Tribe for 4 years. When she is not working, she enjoys baking and spending time with her husband.
